My Elevateher Pitch: Raising two sick boys, I still feel blessed. No, I don’t ask GOD why ME?, He has shown me why and I am grateful for not only these two amazing lil men but also for the strength to carry on and carry on truly LIVING for me, for them and for all the families stopcaidnow is helping. If you do one thing in life, realize you create your own limits. It is not about life being easy or hard, but it is about how you view it to BE… let go of the fear and prove to YOU what you CAN DO! At the end of the day if you can look in the mirror and be proud of WHO you are, then that is what matters.

What do people think you do? It appears that many feel I am in the entertainment industry.

What do you actually do? I am the Founder and President for the first Foundation to cover all AutoInflammatory Diseases.

Tell us about your passions! Passions..I truly enjoy so many things from sailing, basketball, photography, playing pool, inspiring others to BE, to my main passion of helping children.

Who|What inspires what you do? My children inspire me to do what I do.

Was there a turning point in your life that led to your current career? ”The turning point” was when my son Brody was diagnosed with a very rare and genetic diseases. Knowing it took 19.5 months to get a diagnosis, he was taking/needing an over adult dose of medication (daily injections), and not one doctor can say how long I will have him. Prior to being diagnosed it was a living nightmare to watch his pain, hears his pain and not be able to help him.

If money weren’t a factor, what would you be doing?  I don’t live for what money could buy. That said, I would donate 5 to 10 million to support the first CAID CLINIC @ the Cleveland Clinic, support the families with financial struggles, and help support the treatment which we have in the “works”.

What’s in your Bucket List? I fulfilled my bucket list at 23 yrs old. If I had to add a few things, I guess it would be:

a. find a CURE for both my boys and children suffering with rare diseases.

b. seeing the movie I wrote in theaters

c. Sailing on a boat in a few years, feeling as blessed as I do today

Knowing all you know now, what would you tell your 20 year old self? HA, good question. I wouldn’t tell me  a thing. I ve learned so much and “traveling through” is KEY. I have no regrets in life and never will!

Your go-to stress reliever? That would have to be playing basketball, or sailing….always dancing always (music is my added peace)

How do you perceive retirement? Retirement? Hmm I don’t know. I just LIVE and I don’t plan on retiring. I will never stop DOING!! This said, when I put my feet up in a few years (only 42) I will enjoy sailing on the water.

Do you have a personal philosophy you’d like to share? ”Its never the hurdles in life that matter, its how you get over them that makes the difference”.

Some ask me how can I not fear especially with what I go through. The key word is through..I come back out. I do not fear because I have the choice not to….because I have faith. Ask yourself how can you have FAITH, believe in your purpose, TRUST in GOD, yet live in FEAR….FEAR. I do NOT”

“Don’t compete, get caught up in what others are doing or saying….when you do this, you end up chasing your own tail, vs. going forward.”

What would you like your legacy to be? A woman/Lady/DAME (determined, Ambitious, Mom , Endlessly looking for a CURE), who always kept her word, never gave up and inspired others to love themselves and just BE. I want my children to hold strength and balance and to love themselves!

Blessings! – Lisa
