What do people think you do for a living?   Love this question – makes me giggle!  When I tell people I am a certified life coach, mom, yoga instructor and entrepreneur, first they say so you’re a “superwoman!”  To which I add, I do have superpowers yes!  Then they ask what in the world is a life coach?  “Hmmm”, I say “we’re going to love working together!”

What do you actually do for a living?  Let’s see – actual living as in money comes from Radiance Enterprises and all that we do to empower others to be “real” and prosper in every facet of their living!  I get to say that I love every part of what I do for a living!

Tell us about your passions!  I love to travel at the drop of a hat!  I love family adventure like deciding to move from Colorado to California in 2 days!  I love spending time with my husband at a spa and never leaving my cozy robe unless I have a treatment appointment.  I love riding my horse George (who’s passed) because we always took care of each other and he taught me so much.  I love watching my children sleep.  I love seeing our children grow into amazing women.  I love working with clients and seeing their faces light up when they are truly living who they are and are full of joy!  I love learning new things and pushing the edge in self-mastery. I love picking up trash on the sidewalk – it feels good to make a difference no matter how small.  I love looking at people in the eyes, smiling and saying “hello!”  I love the angels my family have played in my life in helping me to be my best. Ok, I could go on and on – let’s just say I love this living thing we’ve got going on!

Who|what inspires what you do?  My coaches inspire me to push just a little bit more because the growth is right there just behind what I may be resisting. My husband inspires me because he is beautiful, confident and so giving. My Dad inspires me because he has courage. My daughters inspire me for their wise words at the ages of 10 and 11.  My in-laws inspired me with their love of my marriage and me. Oprah inspires me with her honesty and connection. I inspire me when I look at how many leaps I’ve taken to grow – seems like there have been a few lifetimes there.  Gandhi inspires me and so does Madonna and Katy Perry!

Was there a turning point in your life that led you to your current career?

In 2009 I was close to ending my life. I was sitting on the floor of my closet sobbing. I wanted to die but didn’t know how to do it so my husband could still have my life insurance money.  I was physically sick and had been for 5 years. I was broke, exhausted, overwhelmed and living a lie. I felt a jolt to my heart and heard “It’s not time.” Still sobbing I promised to open my eyes and heart for possibility. The next month a friend called to share health products and I said “yes.” It changed my health and my finances.  That same month I went to a yoga training and saw a flyer for life coaching training.  I picked it up, booked my ticket and went to my training for Yoga Life Coach Training. It ended up being a turning point in my life when my coach said the most powerful question you can ask someone is “What is your perception of me?”  I went for it and asked her during our training.  She said “on the outside you seem confident, strong and responsible but on the inside you hold back, think you have to be perfect and are scared to be yourself.”  I cried for sadness and joy – finally I was out. I needed this to start to own my journey and love myself. That was it.  I knew I was meant to help others in seeing, loving and living the “realness” of who they are.  It came naturally and it is my gift.  I am so thankful for this journey which continues to unfold, challenge and amaze me.  I know the turning point and we all have one to unfold and start the next chapter.  There’s my joy in journeying and seeing my clients love themselves, turn that page for their next chapter in living a radiant life!

If money weren’t a factor, what would you be doing?  Same thing just bigger – it’s happening and expanding now so it’s all about patience and being in the moment as the growth happens.  I will add more family travel to exotic places like an African Safari and a trip around the world, especially Paris for my daughter Emma. I will build a school in Ethiopia for young girls to love themselves and find their passion. (I’m using “will” very intentionally hereJ )

How does your brand benefit your community and|or a greater purpose? By empowering women entrepreneurs to power up their “realness” and share this radiance in every part of their living, this effects every person they meet – it’s the ripple effect.  We also give to Kiva to support global entrepreneurs in being self-sufficient.  No matter how big or small, our individual choices affect the entire planet.  We see a world where everyone is conscious and aware of the “love factor” and that love transforms all.

What’s in your Bucket List?  I am living my bucket list everyday. Wow, I want to go back to Bali for a month to write one of my books. I want to have dinner with Kevin Spacey, Richard Branson, Will Smith, Madonna, Brad Pitt and Angelina, Mark Mahoney (my tattoo artist), my husband and friends to talk dreams, world visions.   A new tattoo for my next birthday.  A trip to the BVI’s for my 50th! Take my daughters to Paris.  Ride a camel again. Go on an African Safari first class with my family. Expand Radiance Enterprises to empower millions to know the joy of living by unfolding their radiance within. Have an interview conversation with Oprah about my new book. Partner with amazing entrepreneurs for form a girls’ foundation. Surprise my friends and family with an all expense paid first class trip to a private island.  I’m sure I’ll think of more….

Knowing all you know now, what would you tell your 20 year old self?  Love yourself  first because your relationship with yourself allows for more love, compassion and giving in other relationships.  Have more fun imperfections and all because that makes you – you!

What’s you go-to stress reliever? No doubt – yoga, meditation, weekend away with my hubby, Epsom salt bath, walk in the woods…rest, rest, rest…

What is your strategy for turning a negative into a positive?  There is always, always a silver lining.  It may not be so obvious in the moment of the experience, but it’s there and will reveal itself. This I know for sure so I have faith, trust and knowing.  Meditation then respond with conscious action.

How do you perceive retirement?  Please take no offense but when I say the word “retirement” it reminds me of a sad “old folks home” where people didn’t want to go but that’s where they ended up. (maybe I’ve got some work to do here).  I believe the word “retirement” is a thing of the past. We have had a paradigm shift.  We can “retire” whenever we want – it just means pursuing what you love to do!  Take the reins anytime and live the life you love and you will make a living!

Do you have a personal philosophy you’d like to share?  There is always, always, always a way if you are willing.  Opportunities come to us by the feelings we have inside. As we are guided by God to these opportunities, our growth continues to unfold so whatever is in your life now is there for a reason and very purposeful.  It’s our choice to respond to our circumstances from a place of victor instead of victim.

What would you like your legacy to be?  I want people to say “she was an amazing woman who always reflected everyone’s beauty to them. She made me feel like I could do and be anything and I am!  Her daughters are courageous, loving, patient and empowered and are living their passions every day. Her company continues to empower others to step into their “realness” and make an impact in the world by being true to themselves. She and her husband Luke had one hell of a marriage that had such great depth of communication and love. She was a rebel on a mission to love, live, laugh and cause a raucous – a good one – a movement to love ourselves and make an impact.”
