“Together we can ‘make beautiful’ the world”
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Laura has been providing professional interior design services to clients for over two decades. Laura has completed many diverse residential and commercial design-build projects which include homes, restaurants, executive offices, private airport hangers, multi-family condominiums, and mixed-use retail. Laura is a graduate of the prestigious UCLA ARC_ID Interior Architecture and Design Professional Designation Certification Program and a published children’s book author and illustrator. During the years prior to earning a formal interior architecture and design certification, Laura’s lifelong passion for “fixer-uppers” led her to successfully purchase, design, remodel, and sell several unique residential real estate properties. Laura is also the former President and Co-Founder/Owner of the trademark brand Koko Originals TM, a unique line of children’s collectibles, books, and home décor. In addition, Laura has an extensive professional and passionate background in theatrical set, costume, lighting design and construction, and performance.
Laura, who currently serves as the American Society of Interior Designers’ Professional Development Director/Los Angeles Chapter Board of Directors and Chair of Community Service “Outreach and Action” Programs, is the 2013 recipient of the prestigious Adele Faulkner Award for Outstanding Community Service. Recently, Laura received a Special Commendation from the City of Los Angeles which saluted her “inspiring work as an essential leader of the restoration and enhancement of Los Angeles’ urban centers by introducing trend-setting interior design possibilities of center-city loft living”. Laura actively supports the efforts of such dynamic organizations as Women Who Rise, Step Up on Second, Nest Feathers, IOCC, IDCC, MEND, World Vision, and The Amanda Foundation. Laura’s design work can be seen in such publications as RISE, DWELL, California Homes, Domain, LA Design, Luxe Interiors, Fabulous Floors and more.
Inspired by the English countryside, classic movies, and extreme architecture, Laura describes her signature design style as a unique weaving of minimal, traditional and rustic styles. Laura introduces her clients to the exciting and elegant world of these merging styles by infusing the traditional with the unexpected. Laura places great emphasis on customizing her design work to meet her clients’ personal needs, taste, timeline, and budget. She utilizes creativity, experience and technical skill to guide her client’s vision while gracefully articulating her signature style throughout her work in both residential and commercial interiors, re-defining the term timeless and classic. Laura’s work and design style is charismatic, restrained, smart, and wonderfully joyful!
“I have been blessed to have clients that have been creative, talented, and willing! Really, it all comes down to the client’s support, focus, and overarching vision, (and a whole lot of faith in me), that create that one-of-a-kind exceptional result! It is the designer’s willingness and commitment to listen and collaborate with the client that creates the true magic! I love it when my clients are ecstatic with their finished projects, especially when they feel they have been involved in developing the concept. My clients feel pride and ownership, and ultimately love being in their new space!”
